
Darren has been actively involved in local, state and nation-wide politics for over 18 years. Starting as a volunteer with the 1982 Governor's race, he moved on to hold the fund-raising chairman's position for the 16th congressional district at the age of 17. He has been an advance logistical coordinator for several candidates and one sitting Governor. Darren served as Chair of the Mondale for President 1984 for Murray State University in Kentucky where He was attending school as a History/Pre-Law major. He worked on the Al Gore for President campaign's of 1988 and 1992, and subsequently went on to volunteer for the Clinton for President campaign in 1992. Seeing a drastic change in his Party during Clinton's first term Darren retired from formal political activity until 2000 when the campaign of Ralph Nader showed him again, a glimpse of what this nation could and should be. Darren served as Wayne county coordinator for the Nader/LaDuke 2000 campaign. He helped form the Downriver Green Party Local in November of 2000 and is the current co-chair and recorder of the Local. He served on the State Central Committee of the Green Party of Michigan February 2000 to May 2000. He currently serves as co-chair of the Wayne county Committee of the Green Party. He is co-founder and chair of P.A.S.S. or Parents Against Standardized Schooling. A grass roots organization concerned with making stardardized testing more uniform and less restricting and influential. He is President and Treasurer of the Metro Detroit Americans United for the Seperation of Church and State. He is a full time employee at a metro detroit area auto supplier, in the field of noise, vibration and harshness. Darren was born in Dearborn and raised in New Boston, Michigan, but has lived in Taylor, Belleville and Ypsilanti, and is currently a resident of Flat Rock. Darren has been married for 13 years and has two daughters 12 and 10. Avid dart players, Darren and his wife Melissa have played in various Dart leagues in the Detroit area and are always up for a game of Cricket or 301.
